Hold it right there

Via Bill Peschel:

I was just about to log off when I found this promise, highlighted in a post on Planet Peschel:

10 simple ways to save yourself from messing up your life – lifehack.org.

Definitely not a promise to ignore, I rushed straight on over to find out the answers. Well, it’s mostly good common sense, but what is conspicuously missing is how to turn the advice into reality. Oh well,  I’ll return to my imperfect existence, although there was a little glimmer of hope there, for a minute.

  1. This is perfect! Your blog, I mean, Maxine. Yesterday I was having a real problem seeing it; the day before, the print was probably a tad too large. This is clear and elegant looking! Love it.

  2. He makes it sound so simple, doesn’t he?
He does make a good point, though, that we spend far too much time obsessing over what others think of us, only to realize that most people dont think much about us at all. We’re far better off creating and performing, not sitting there with a cup of tea and wondering how it went all so wrong.
The only thing I did object to is his contention that we have no personalities. As the father of three kids, I think I could offer a pretty fair disputation of that statement!

  3. Hi Maxine –
Just a quick message to say thanks a million for dropping by my blog and for your kind comments. Just finished Borderlands last night, I thorougly enjoyed it, found it very much in the Ross Macdonald mould with a distinctive Irish (but never ‘Oirish’) voice. I’m off to check out your review now …

  4. Yes, I second Susan’s vote for the new blog format – lovely and big and purple. Like this link too, and your comment. Very funny.
