Answers on the continuation page.

acid, acrid, adit, admit, amid, arid, cadi, card, cardia, damar, dart, data, diram, dirt, dram, drama, drat, maid, raid, trad, triad

dramatic is the word using all the letters. Can’t believe I didn’t get that, Susan. I didn’t do too well on this one at all, only got 15 in total.

By the way, Susan, this will be the last polygon for a couple of weeks or so on Petrona, but you can go to the Times online and find a new one each day. If it works, go to this link and you should see a montage of newspaper front pages. Click on the day you want; when the contents list comes up, scroll down a long way until you get to "games" and it is the last item on there.   If the link I’ve given here doesn’t work, go to the main Times page and click on "newspaper edition" in the left hand vertical bar (it is a bit buried, but there), then do the same. I warn you that in real time you have to wait until the next day for the answers! I’ll continue posting them when I get back, if you still like doing them at that point.

  1. What a sweet lady, thinking about keeping me amused while you’re away. Thank you, Maxine!
I got 15 of the words on this puzzle too. The best I might have done was 17 – of the other five words I would never have guessed four of them and I would have discounted ‘cardia’ as a word segment only.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Take care!
