  1. acer, acne, acre, arcane, cafe, cage, cane, caner, carafe, care, carer, carfare, carnage, carr, crag, cran, cranage, crane, face, facer, farce, franc, grace, nacre, narc, race, racer
fragrance is the word using all the letters.
(I think I got most of the above apart from carfare which I did not know was all one word, cranage (to do with amount of cranes you need for a construction job?), carr (?) and acer (don’t recognise the spelling).)

  2. I got only 17 today, Maxine, and I am thoroughly disgusted with myself. I missed some very obvious words (e.g., acne, acre, farce, etc.) I also missed cranage and carr and neither word is in my dictionary. I did get fragrance though, so all is not lost!
